Learn from the Web
---------------------------------------
Thank you to everyone who is helping me get a Web Working Group going. This newsletter is the second step in bringing us together to create some online leverage. Hopefully we can help make each other some money!
Some of you have signed up directly for the newsletter, and others have joined my internet marketing lists from other sources. The goal is to set up systems so we can all help each other in this difficult economy.
It may seem very nebulous as we begin, but things will grow into clarity as we continue. Sticking with us through the beginning will be a big help. There is a huge advantage in helping to put something together from the ground floor, eventually we'll all get to know each other, and find how we can create leverage with each other.
We are starting by meeting occasionally in our small community here in Salmon, Idaho. And I will be working on this newsletter each week to help folks slowly learn about the web, how to use it to help our businesses, and ways we can all help each other.
Here's this weeks selection of goodies on the web:
---------------------------------------
1. Lose Weight: Everyone needs to lose some weight, and it is also the most-spammed category on the internet. This makes weight loss a very tricky category to work in, but it can also be fulfilling and profitable -IF- you actually have a good way to lose weight!
Here is the product that Christy Shiner and I are working with. This is a company named Visalus, and they have set it up so that people can easily join a 90 Day Weight Loss Challenge online, and can also join the team. More on this as time goes on:
Currently I am down 4 pounds and hoping that number keeps growing!

2. Content Management Systems
Creating any sort of a web presence online requires keeping up with the online world. Here are videos on the two content management systems that I recommend: Drupal and Wordpress.
In my experience they are both good, but they are not equal. I would say that Drupal is ultimately more robust. If you are wanting lots of functionality from your website (especially if you want a shopping cart) then choose Drupal.
Wordpress, on the other hand, is easier for a novice to set up. Once they are set up, and you understand how to work your system, their ease of use is relative the same. Switching from one to the other, though, is not that easy because they use a different system of logic in the workflow.

3. SOMETHING FUNNY
Here is a real live computer bug!

4. SOMETHING SMART
I love Bill Nye the Science Guy and found a great physics documentary with him. If you want to just feel smarter today, click here for Discovery Channel 100 Greatest Physics Discoveries.
---------------------------------------
That's it for now. Just a little something to start with. As of now this newsletter will go out each Tuesday, just to keep some momentum going until we evolve into a true voice.
Thanks
